HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-09-13LEXINGTON BOARD OF APPEALS September 13, 1984 The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at 7:45 P.M. Notices were placed in the Lexington Minute man, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town, published on Thursdays. Notices appeared in the newspaper on August 30 and September 6 and were sent by mail, postage prepaid to all interested parties, pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws. Present and acting on scheduled hearings were: Robert M. Gary, Acting Chairman; Anne R. Scigliano; Clarence D. Turner; and Associate Members: Jonathan P. Doran and John J. McWeeney. Public hearings were held on the following petitions: 7 Patterson Rd., Juan A. Gorospe requested a special permit, pursuant to Zoning By -Law Section 5.7, to install an above ground swimming pool at 7 Patterson Road. 67 Grant St., Eileen Collins requested a variance of dimensional controls, Section 7.4.1 b, to enclose a deck. 55 Massachusetts Ave., Berman's Market, Inc. requested a special permit, pursuant to Zoning By -Law Sections 3.3 and 6.3, to construct a 24' x 5' addition to the front of the store at 55 Massachusetts Avenue. 238 Wood St., Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Lincoln Laboratory, requested a special permit, pursuant to Sections 6.3 and 3.3, for the extension and 'enlargement of a non -conforming use by the erection of five (5) modular buildings for offices. There would be no increase in employees, parking requirements or traffic. The purpose of this petition is to upgrade the existing use, research and activity presently carried on by petitioner at this location. 141 Spring St., Raytheon Co. requested a special permit (SPS) pursuant to Table 1, line 8.15, to construct a gate house (floor area - 165 sq. ft.) to be located 341 feet from the intersection of Spring Street and the existing Raytheon driveway. 131 Spring Street, Raytheon Co. requested an amendment to a special permit granted April 24, 1980, to allow expansion of the existing parking lot to accommodate 115 cars (which includes 48 spaces that were previously authorized but were not constructed). Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. 7 Patterson Rd. - SP granted, unanimously. 67 Grant St. - Variance denied by vote of 4 to 0 (John J. McWeeney abstaining). 55 Mass. Ave. - SP granted, unanimously. 238 Wood St. - SP granted by vote of 4 to 1 (John J. McWeeney voting in negative). 141 Spring St. - SPS granted, unanimously. 131 Spring St. - SP granted, unanimously.
