HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-09-22LEXINGTON BOARD OF APPEALS September 22, 1983 The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at 7:30 p.m. Present and acting on petitions were: for lst 4 hearings for 421 Lowell St. hearing (savings bank) Thomas G. Taylor, Chairman Eric T. Clarke, Acting Chairman Robert M. Gary Jonathan P. Doran Clarence D. Turner William C. Hays Eric T. Clarke Laurence K. Redgate Jonathan P. Doran Public hearings were held on the following petitions. 420-430 Bedford St., Mortimer B. Zuckerman and Edward H. Linde, Trustees of Elandzee Trust, c/o Boston Properties,requested that a prior Board of Appeals Special Permit for a sign be modified so that the size of letters on the standing sign could be increased. Sign would remain in the same location. 12 Doran Farm Lane, Aldo C. & Evelyn R. Simeone requested revision of the special permit granted for development of Morrow Crossing (RD zone) to allow a 13'x13' covered porch to be added at 12 Doran Farm Lane. The addition would add 169 sq. ft., which is less than 7.14% of the 2368 sq. ft. area of the home (ref. ZBL Sections 8.1.15 & 8.1.14). 8 Oxford St., Ronald & Marjorie Bulger requested a special permit, pursuant to ZBL Section 5.7, for a swimming pool; and a variance of Section 5.7.1 (a) to allow less than the required 15 ft. side yards. 18 Mason St., Eugene and Katherine Achter requested a variance of dimensional con- trols, Section 7 and Table 2. A two-story addition (52'x14.5') would be added. The 18 inch roof overhang on the addition would be 13.5' from the side lot line instead of 151. 421 Lowell St., Lexington Savings Bank requested a special permit, pursuant to ZBL Section 7.4.9, to allow an existing structure (drive -up frame) to remain as located, 15.65' from a residential zone instead of 201. Also, a special permit, pursuant to Section 3.3 and Table 1, line 6.4, to allow a 160 sq. ft. (plus or minus) one-story addition to the existing branch (bank) located at 421 Lowell St. The addition will provide a 24-hour teller machine. Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. 420-430 Bedford St. - SP granted, unanimously. 12DoranFarm Lane - SP revision granted, unanimously. 8 -Oxford St. - SP for pool granted. Variance denied (4 to 1, Doran in favor). 18 Mason St. - Variance granted, unanimously. 421 Lowell St. - SP to allow existing structure to remain as located, granted; SP to allow addition & teller machine with hours 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. only (NOT 24 hours).
