The Board held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at 7:30 p.m.
Present and acting on petitions were:

Public hearings were held on the following petitions.
1666 Mass. Ave., Galo P. Emerson, Jr. requested special permits for food service
operations at "Lexington Square", located in CB zone, requesting seating for 72
persons and take out service (ZBL Section 3.3 & Table 1, lines 6.12 & 6.14). Putnam
Pantry is a candy shop and ice cream parlor serving no other food. It would occupy
a portion of the Lexington Square building at 1666 Mass. Ave.
20 Pelham Rd., Nobscot Foundation, Inc. requested a special permit to continue to
operate a private, independent day school (ZBL Table 1, line 2.2) for boys, grades
7-12, known as Westbridge, in a portion of the school building at 20 Pelham Road,
zoned RS.
231 Bedford St., Carmen & Annette Lombardo requested a special permit (ZBL Sec. 3.3)
to operate the business of a hairdresser, beautician and manicurist (Table 1, line
6.5) at 231 Bedford St., zoned CN.
' 446 Waltham St., Vincent Esposito requested a variance of dimensional controls (ref.
ZBL Sections 6 & 7 & Table 2) to construct a two -car garage which would violate side
yard setback requirements. New garage would replace an existing one, which is loca-
ted 4' from side yard. New garage would have same side yard but would be set back
further from street than the existing garage.
20 Pearl St., Donald A. Miller requested a variance for an addition which will extend
the front of the house out 6 feet and violate dimensional control requirements of the
zoning by-law (ref. Sections 6 & 7 & Table 2). The house at 20 Pearl St. will be
changed from a Cape to a Garrison.
29 Barberry Rd., Judith V. Jordan & William M. Redpath requested a special permit,
pursuant to Sec. 3.3 & Table 1 (Use Regulation Schedule) line 8.2, to use a portion
(rooms in basement) of their residence at 29 Barberry Road as offices. A hearing was
scheduled for August 11. Petitioners requested that the petition be heard on Sept. 8
and the Board so voted, unanimously.

20 Pelham Rd. - SP granted, unanimously - expiration date August 15, 1988.
231 Bedford St. SP granted, unanimously.
446 Waltham St. Variance granted, unanimously.
20 Pearl St. Variance granted, unanimously.
29 Barberry Rd. - SP denied by vote of 3 in favor to 2 not in favor (Gary & Scigliano
not in favor).
The meeting adjourned at 11:38 p.m.
