May 24, 1983
The Board met in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at 7:30 p.m. Present and
acting were:
Woodruff M. Brodhead, Chairman
Natalie H. Riffin, Vice Chairman
Robert M. Gary
Eric T. Clarke, Associate
Laurence K. Redgate, Associate
The Board continued the public hearing with respect to Hayden Avenue and
Spring Street, Ledgemont Associates, c/o Beal & Co., Inc., who had requested a
Special Permit, pursuant to ZBL Section 3.4 - SPS - site plan review, to develop
property in a CR -office and research park district, by constructing a building
for office purposes (all uses of 4.0 of Table 1 and line 7.2).
The Chairman opened the public meeting with many people in attendance, includ-
ing Irwin Barkan, Daniel Taylor, Gary Larson, the Planning Board Chairman, Members
of the South Lexington Association and several other citizens of Lexington.
The Planning Board's Supplementary Report (dated May 23) was read. (The
Planning Board had met with a representative of the Beal and Co: and their consult-
ants on May 18th. Some compromises had been made and differences of opinion
relative to traffic pointed out.) Many of the people present voiced concerns.
' Decision: The Board unanimously granted a special permit to develop the
property described for the uses set forth in Section 4.0 and 7.2 of the Table of
Uses in the Zoning By -Law, subject to conditions.
Please see the Decision filed with the Town Clerk for details and the findings
and determination made by the Board of Appeals. The decision was signed by those
present and acting for this hearing and filed with the Town Clerk on June 10, 1983.
The May 24th hearing adjourned at 11:38 p.m.
