April 28, 1983
The Board held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. Present
and acting on petitions: Woodruff M. Brodhead, Chairman
Robert M. Gary
Thomas G. Taylor
William C. Hays, Associate
Jonathan P. Doran, Associate
Public hearings were held on the following petitions, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
24 Parker St., Kenneth P. James & Kyle P. James requested a special permit, pur-
suant to ZBL Section 5.7, for installation of an inground Gunite Pool.
85 Hartwell Ave., Boston Properties requested to extend and/or renew the special
permit (SPS - site plan approval - ZBL Section 3.4) as originally granted by the
Board of Appeals and filed with the Town Clerk. The special permit allowed
construction of a three-story office building and research park (Table 1, 4.1-
4.4 and 7.1 & 7.2). No changes are requested.
85 Hartwell Ave., Boston Properties requested to extend and/or renew both of the
variances (maximum percentage of compact automobile spaces and minimum width of
parking aisles - ZBL Section 9.8.2) as originally granted by the Board and filed
with the Town Clerk. No additional relief is requested.
85 Hartwell Ave., Boston Properties requested to extend and/or renew the Flood
Insurance Special Permit (ZBL Section 9.6) as originally granted by the Board and
filed with the Town Clerk. No changes are requested.
2 Middle St., David J. and Robyn C. Edell made an appeal to the Board. The Build-
ing Commissioner denied a building permit. (Ref. G.L. Ch. 40A, Sections 8, 14 & 15
and Lexington Zoning By -Law Section 3.2.1).
537 Lowell St., Hugh M. Leichtman requested renewal of the temporary special permit
granted by the Board pursuant to Table 1, line 9.1;and Section 3.3 to permit the
use of the remodeled barn on the property at.537 Lowell St. as livingquarters.
(Please reference former permits.) Petitioner states that no change in the special
permit is sought and all conditions listed 'therein continue to be honored.
Decisions filed with the Town Clerk:
24 Parker St. - special permit unanimously granted.
85 Hartwell Ave. - The Planning Board recommended that these hearings be continued
so that it could analyse the traffic analysis submitted by Petitioner.
All agreed and the three hearings were continued to May 26, 1983.
2 Middle St. - The appeal was withdrawn.
537 Lowell St. - Temporary Special Permit granted unanimously - expires 5/18/84.
Other action: Board members unanimously voted to waive plan requirements for
927 Waltham St., Nicholas A. Cannalonga and Robert and David Modoono, 196 Woburn
St., thereby allowing the hearings to be held to renew these agricultural permits.
See list of hearings scheduled for May 12 and May 26.
