The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in Selectmen's Meeting Room.

Public hearings were held on the following petitions:
30 Taft Avenue, Joseph and Jody Petner requested a variance of dimensional
controls for an addition which would have a side yard of 14' from Sutherland
Road instead of the required 201. Ref. ZBL Section 7 and Table 2.
5 Revolutionary Road, John G. Desmond requested a variance of dimensional
controls to remodel and enlarge a one -car garage into a two -car garage with a
side yard of 715" instead of the required 151. Ref. ZBL Section 7 & Table 2.
171 Massachusetts Avenue, Coolidge Bank and Trust Company requested a special
permit for the internal illumination of an existing sign on the building at
171 Mass. Ave. Ref. ZBL sign regulations, Section 10.2.5.
' 314 Bedford Street, John R. Clark & Associates, Inc. requested a special permit
for a standing sign for Parker Manor Condominiums. Ref. ZBL Sec. 10.4.4.
85 Hartwell Avenue, Boston Properties, requested to extend and/or renew both of
the variances, as originally granted to them, as follows: (a) To vary the max—
imum percentage of compact automobile spaces from 15% as specified in ZBL
Section 9.8.2 to 24.63% and (b} to vary the minimum width of.parking aisles from
24' as set forth in ZBL Section 9.8.2 to 201. The special permit for an office
and research development and special permit under National Flood Insurance
District granted for this Site remain valid for 2 years from 8/26/81. variances
are valid for one year and may be reestablished only after a new hearing. No
changes have been made from the Site Plan previously approved.
319 Woburn Street, BayBank Harvard Trust Company requested a special permit to
install and maintain small automatic teller machines for 24 hour banking
convenience in the existing building at 319 Woburn Street (owned by Countryside,
Inc.) Ref. ZBL Table 1, line 6.4 and Section 3.3.
319 Woburn Street, BayBank Harvard Trust Company requested a special permit for
a roof sign to be internally illuminated 24 hours per day. Ref. ZB Sign Regs.
Section 10., esp. 10.1.4 and 10.2.5.

SP for illuminated sign granted by vote of 4 to 1,
Mr. Gary voting in the negative.
