The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.
Present: Ruth Morey, Chairman
Woodruff M. Brodhead

Robert M. Gary, Associate
Public hearings were held on the following petitions.
1640 Mass. Ave., Paul E. Hirtle - special permit for a projecting sign for Photo
CraftA leasing space at 1640 Mass. Ave.). (see 1644 also)
1644 Mass. Ave., Janice A. Brink - special permit for a projecting sign for Unicorn
Books (leasing space in the building at 1640-1644 Mass. Ave., same building as Photo
Craft) .
1715 Mass. Ave., Daman Enterprises, Inc. - special permit to expand restaurant
(Bel Canto).
51 Woburn St., Johanna and Helen Barrett - special permit so'that Dorothy Girouard
may operate the Glass Slipper, a retail store selling clothing and used articles on
consignment in the store which was occupied as a bicycle shop from 1961 to 1979,
and prior thereto as a grocery or convenience store for many years.
72 Lowell St., Haskell W. Reed - variance from frontage requirements for a proposed
Lot C, which is part of Lot B-3 on Assessors' Map 28 and also shown on plan of land
in Lexington, 12/8/80, Everett M. Brooks Co., C.E. Lot C would have an area of
18,512 sq. ft. and frontage of 117.69 ft.
Morrow Crossing Development, Mark Moore, Jr. - variances to allow the distances
between certain garages and buildings to be less than required.

1644 Mass. Ave. - SP granted unanimously.
1715 Mass. Ave. - SP granted unanimously.
51 Woburn St. - SP denied unanimously.
72 Lowell St. - V denied (in favor: Brodhead & Gary; in opposition: Riffin &
Turner; abstained: Ruth Morey)
Morrow Crossing (land off East St.) - Variances granted on 4 to 1 vote (Gary voting
in the negative).
The meeting adjourned at 10:57 p.m.
