' The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Thursday, March 23, 1978,
beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Town Office Building, Selectmen's Meeting Room.
Present: George P. Wadsworth, Chairman

Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices of hearings
having been mailed and advertised as required by statute.
Sydney & Noyes Associates - variance to permit parking on the property formerly
known as Hancock School in conjunction with the proposed condominium development
at the corner of Clarke and Forest Streets.
Elliott M. and Concetta S. Fielder - variances of Section 27, Schedule of Dimen-
sional Controls, in regard to an existing house and lot at l Briggs Road. No
changes are being made to the dimensions of the house or lot.
David E. Gompers - special permit, pursuant to Section 13 (site plan review) to
construct a building (approximately 113,000 sq. ft.) at the property described
herein: Land in Lexington, shown as Lot #1 and Lot #2 on a plan in Lexington,
filed in the Land Registration Office for the Southern District of Middlesex County
with Certificate #139005 in Book #785, Page #45. This property is shown on Lex.
Property Map 80, Lot 4, on Hartwell Avenue.
Decisions: The Board made the following decisions, all in open meeting. See
decisions filed with the Town Clerk for more details.
Sydney and Noyes - granted, unanimously.
Fielder - granted unanimously.
Gompers - The Chairman was directed to write the following letter:

Re: Kiln Brook Office Park, Hartwell Avenue
Hearing, March 23, 1978
Dear Mr. Gompers:
The Board of Appeals has deferred its decision on your petition for Kiln Brook
Office Park. This delay is intended to provide you with an opportunity
' (1) to provide the Board of Appeals with plans showing an on-site
disposal system which can be converted and connected to town sewerage when
available for this site and has the approval of Lexington's Board of Health.
(2) to favorably resolve a HUD floodway definition problem; and

(3) to obtain engineering approval with respect to drainage and runoff.
In accordance with Massachusetts G. L. Chapter 40A the Board of Appeals must act
within 90 days of date of your hearing before the Board.
Also, it is the Board's intention that notices be mailed of any date set by the
Board of Appeals to review any additional plans we may receive from you so that
parties in interest may have an opportunity to also review them.

Note: The above was filed with the Town Clerk of Lexington 4/12/78.
Other Action:
Board members approved decision with conditions for SMM Realty Corp., which
hearing was held on March 9, 1978.
Discussion:
Board members considered several procedures to follow in regard to Town
Meeting articles re. Zoning By-laws, but took no formal action.
The meeting adjourned at 11:35 p.m.
