' The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Thursday, December 22, 1977,
beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Town Office Building, Selectmen's Meeting Room.

Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices of the hearings
having been mailed and hearings advertised in the Lexington Minute -Man newspaper
as required by statute.
Florence Baldwin Trust - variance from the provisions of Sections 26 and 27 and
other applicable provisions, so as to allow for the construction of a single
family home on a lot containing 168,450 sq. ft., more or less, said lot being
bounded generally by Spring Street, Concord Avenue and the Route 2 Interchange,
and having 71.15 ft. of frontage on Concord Avenue and 96 feet of frontage on
Spring Street. The applicant is the owner of the property.
Instrumentation Lab - special permit to erect two permanent enclosed walkways on
the property located at 113 Hartwell Avenue.
Diran D. Keshian - special permit, pursuant to Section 30.3, or a variance of
Section 27 to re -construct and/or erect a chimney at 455 Lowell Street which would
have a 14.4 ft. set back from the front property line.
Harry Knight - variance to allow for the premises located at 235 Bedford Street,
awned by Harry Knight to be used for general office purposes as provided in Sec-
tions 25.41 and 25.42 and other applicable sections of the zoning by-law. This
property is presently being used for general office purposes as a non -conforming
use under Section 30 of the zoning by-law.
Lexington Gardens, Inc. - renewal of the special permit granted December 23, 1976,
under subsections 12.2 and 24.5, to store and sell in conjunction with the opera-
tion of a nursery at 93 Hancock Street all of the supplementary items specified in
24.5, paragraph 1.
DECISIONS: The Board made the following decisions, all in open meeting. See
decisions filed with the Town Clerk and in Board of Appeals' files for more details.
Florence Baldwin Trust - granted four to one, Mrs. Riffin voting in opposition.
Instrumentation Lab - granted unanimously.
K6shian - granted four to one, the Chairman voting in opposition.
Knight - variance denied; non -conforming status confirmed allowing all present
uses to be continued and any or all uses under Section 25, CN district, designated
"Yes" as shown in the current by-laws. Note: current by-laws contain 1975 date.
Lexington Gardens - unanimously granted for one year, subject to conditions.
