HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-04-07BOARD OF APPEALS April 7, 1977 ' The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Thursday, April 7, 1977; beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Town Office Building, Selectmen's Meeting Room. Present: George P. Wadsworth, Chairman Ruth Morey, Vice Chairman Woodruff M. Brodhead Natalie H. Riffin, Associate Robert M. Gary, Associate Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices of the hear- ings having been mailed and hearings advertised in the Lexington Minute -Man newspaper as required by statute. Louis R. Vitiello - special permit allowing the use of a portion of his resi- dence located at 4 Redcoat Lane, as a Law Office in accordance with Section 25.81 of the Use Regulations, Zoning By-law. James B. Catalano - renewal of special permit to continue operations of retail business of selling flowers, produce and plants grown on the premises at 643 Waltham Street. Robert S. Graves - renewal of the permit for variance to allow temporary parking of not more than ten (10) motor vehicles on the rear of the property at 388 Con - Ltd Avenue. This parking will continue to be used in conjunction with Bob's Towing Service of Lexington. A two year permit is requested. Honeywell, Inc. - variance under the terms of Sections 12.3 and 25, and other applicable sections, for permission to include light manufacturing and assembly of electronic and optical mechanical assemblies on the premises at 3 Forbes Rd. Lexington Enterprises, Inc., d/b/a Peking Garden Restaurant, 27 Waltham Street - special permit under the Town of Lexington Zoning By-laws to enable it to enlarge its restaurant facilities and use the adjacent premises and lot of land located at 31 Waltham Street, formerly occupied by Stevens Market, Inc., for the purpose of extending its restaurant use. Petitioner has an agreement with the owners of the premises at 31 Waltham Street to purchase the property. The addition is to be in accordance with the plan entitled "Addition to Peking Garden, Morehouse and Chesley Architects" dated February 22, 1977, copy of which is in the Board of Appeals' office. DECISIONS: The Board made the following decisions, all in open meeting. See dicisions for more details, all in Board of Appeals' files and also filed with the Town Clerk. Vitiello - denied 2 to 3. Natalie H. Riffin and Woodruff M. Brodhead voting to grant permission, the others voting in opposition. Catalano - granted for 2 years unanimously, subject to certain conditions. Graves - granted unanimously, a temporary permit for one year, subject to certain conditions. Honeywell - granted unanimously. D C 1 Board of Appeals (continued) - April 7, 1977 hearings W, Lexington Enterprises, Inc. - decision by the Board of Appeals was postponed to an adjourned meeting on the following Wednesday, April 13, 1977.
