HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-08-12 BOARD OF APPEALS August 12, 1976 The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting on Thursday, August 12, 1976, beginning at 7 30 p m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Office Building Present were Chairman Nickerson, Vice Chairman Wadsworth, Ruth Morey, Woodruff M. Brodhead and Irving H. Mabee Also present were a room full of townspeople, a Lexington Minute-Man Reporter and a representative of the League of Women Voters Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notices having been mailed to the proper persons and notices having been advertised as required by statute Dorothy G Levine - variance of section 27 and the minimum side yard requirement of 15 ft set forth therein The building is a garage located at 58 Buckman Drive and is located only 9 2 ft from the side yard in violation of this section The Peti- tioner requests a variance of 5 8 ft in order that the building conform to the ex- isting zoning bylaws Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lincoln Laboratory - special permit under section 30 of the zoning bylaw in order that it may erect on premises, owned by it, at 238 Wood Street, a tower, located and described on plans and exhibits filed with the Board The tower including the antenna will be 88 ft above ground level Ronald K. Hagopian and Artemis M. Hagopian - variance of section 27 in order to build a porch attached to the rear of the house at 46 Chase Avenue, which addition will result in a six foot instead of fifteen foot rear yard Lexington Savings Bank - special permit to erect two free standing signs on property at 421 Lowell Street Richard R. Corazzini and Frederic D: Corazzini, d/b/a Corazzini Bros - renewal of a special permit for the retail sale of nursery products at 7 Blossom Street, in accord- ance with the regulations set forth in the zoning bylaw, section 24 5 The sales area will be in a portion of the existing building as shown on the Plot Plan previously submitted The Board made the following decisions, all in open meeting See permits and denials for details Levine - granted 4 to 1, George P Wadsworth voting in opposition M I T - granted unanimously Hagopian - 3 in favor, 2 in opposition (Ruth Morey and Irving Mabee) Lexington Savings Bank - granted 4 to 0 (directional signs) , Mr Mabee abstained Corazzini - denied, 3 in favor, 2 in opposition (I Mabee and R.
