HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-10-20 BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS October 20, 1970 A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, October 20, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen' s meeting Room, The Bird Room, Cary Memorial Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Dawes, Wadsworth, Sheldon and associate member Morey. The following petitions were heard: Joseph Picariello - variance of the Zoning By-Law to maintain an existing dwelling at 58 Bow Street, having insufficient setback of 17.9 feet instead of the required 20 feet on the southerly side yard. howard A. Smith. DVM - permission to maintain an existing sign, overall size 5 ft. 3* in. wide and 6 ft. 10 in. high, located on the premises at 476 Bedford Street. Colonial Pharmacy - permission to erect and maintain a single face, colonial style sign, 3 feet x 2 feet to be attached to the building at 1754 Massachusetts Avenue. Busa Bros. Liquors. Inc. - permission to erect and maintain a sign, lb in. x 16 ft. , on the north side of the building and a roofline sign, 10 ft. x 3 ft. , both signs made of plexiglass, illuminated and to be located on the building located at 131 Massachusetts Avenue. Bedford Travelodge - permission to erect and maintain a free standing directional sign, 8 ft. x 4 ft. , to be located on property formerly of Ernest B. Johnson, Jr. on Grove Street at Route 128. Joseph F. Chabot. DVM - permission to erect and maintain a building at 149 Adams Street, to be used for the practice of veterinary medicine. William H. Sullivan - variance of the Zoning By-Law to change lot lines of lots 3, 9, 10 located at 6, 4 and 2 Bushnell Drive, respectively, to allow abutting property frontage for future building lot frontage. Virginia L;, Sargeant, Ls nrence W. Ehrhardt and William Pau; - variance to permit the lot at 21 gercy Road to be divided into three sections, A, B and C , each of the petitioners to acquire one section and a variation to permit an insufficient side yard on section B. At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which the following decisions were reached: Joseph Picariello - granted. Howard A. Smith, DVM - granted. October 20, 1970 Page 2 Colonial Pharmacy - denied. ' Buse Bros. Liquors, Inc. - granted, 2 signs (10' wide x 3' high Bedford Travelodge - denied. Joseph F. Chabot,DVM - granted with conditions. William H. Sullivan - denied. Virginia L. Sargeant, Laurence W. Ehrhardt and William Paul - granted, line to be redrawn to allow a 10 ft. side yard on section B.
