HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-09-29BOARD OF APPEALS September 29, 1970 A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, September 29, 1970, at 7:30 p.m, in the temporary Selectmen's meeting room, The Bird Room in the Cary Memorial Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson and regular members Abbott, Sheldon, Dawes and Wadsworth. The following petitions were heard: Paul Mara hio - special permit to construct a greenhouse 20 ft. 40 ft. in connection with the vegetable stand at 653 Lowell Street. Elliott J. and Mary M. Barrett - variance of the Zoning By -Law to maintain an existing dwelling at 92 Middle Street, having insufficient side yard of 6.7 ft. instead of the required 7.5 feet and insufficient front yard setback of 27.3 feet instead of the required 30 feet. James Dhimos - variance to allow the construction of an addition to the existing dwelling at 239 Lincoln Street, having a side yard of 13.6 feet instead of the required 15 feet. Daniel Brzezenski - variance to build an attached 2 -car ' garage 24 by 30 feet. The garage to be attached to the existing dwelling at 43 Robinson Road would have a side yard of 9 feet instead of the required 15 feet. Oneida Corporation - permission to revise a small portion of a subdivision known as "Drummer Boy", located in a proposed subdivision off Bedford and Winter streets, from conventional to cluster lots. At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which the above requests were discussed and the following decisions reached: Paul Marashio - granted. Elliott J. and Mary M. Barrett - granted. James Dhimos - granted Daniel Brzezenski - granted -garage to be 22 ft. wide. Oneida Corporation - granted. Also discussed at this meeting was the Walnut Farm Trust hearing, with Mrs. Morey, the associate member who was on the board for that hearing on September 8, 1970. The Board reached the following decision: Walnut Farm Trust - denied. After discussing a letter from the Building Inspector ' regarding bonding of composite masonry walls, upon a motion made and seconded, the Board unanimously voted: To vary Article I Section 8 of the Budding By -Law of the Town of Lexington to permit this method to be used for the construction of the Town Office Building addition.
