March 24, 1970
A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday,
March 24, 1970, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building.
Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Sheldon, Abbott, Dawes and
Associate member Emery.
The following petitions were heard:
Wilson Farm, Inc. - permission to continue to operate a roadside stand at
10 Pleasant Street.
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church - permission to erect and maintain a sign
on the property located at 17 Meriam St.
A. Russell MacDonald - variance from provision of Sec. 27 of the Zoning By -Law
to slightly reduce the frontage of the lot of house at 10 Sheridan St., the
area of lot of house at 6 Sheridan St., the area of the lot of house at 41
Grant St. in order to adjust the boundary line between these lots.
Sun 011 Company - special permit under Sec. 25.50 for the demolition of the
existing one -bay gasoline service station and the erection and operation'of
a two -bay service station to be located at 301 Massachusetts Ave. and Fottler
Ave. and a variance from Sec. 27 for a 1 foot rear yard instead of the required
' 20 feet.
Dunkin Donuts Franchising Corporation - permission to erect and maintain a
fascia sign, to be located at the front of the building and a Dunkin' Donuts
sign on the east side of the building to be located at 373 Waltham St.
Dunkin' Donuts Franchising Corporation - permission to erect and maintain a
6 ft. x 10 ft. sign and base at thesouthwest corner of 373 Waltham St. (corner
of Marrett Rd.).
Dunkin' Donuts Franchising Corporation - permission to erect and maintain a
6 ft. x 10 ft. sign and base at the easterly side of Waltham Street on premises
at 373 Waltham St.
At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which
the following decisions were made:
Wilson Farms, Inc. - granted.
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church - granted.
A. Russell MacDonald - granted.
Sun Oil Company - granted.
Dunkin' Donuts (fascia sign and side of building) denied.
Dunkin' Donuts (6'x10' sign on Waltham St.) denied.
Dunkin' Donuts (6'x10' sign on Marrett Rd.) denied.
The Meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
