A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday,
December 16, 1969, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building.
Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Abbott, Sheldon, Wadsworth and
Dawes.
The following petitions were heard:
Mrs. Viola Norlin - permission to continue operation of the Lexington Manor
Nursery for the coming year at her home, 118 Burlington Street.
S. Arthur and Alice G. Peterson - permission to vary the Zoning By -Law to
subdivide the property at 546 Lowell Street, into 2 lots, one of which would
have a frontage of 132 ft. and an area of 11,800 sq. ft. more or less, to which
lot 3,000 sq. ft. more or less, shall be conveyed by abutter, being petitioners'
corporation, and shown as the area designated "A'� on plan filed herewith, so that
said lot will have a total of 14,800 sq. ft. more or less, second of which would
have frontage of 20 feet and an area of 2,500 sq. ft. more or less, to be added
to other land of abutter, being petitioners' corporation to provide access to
the entrance of existing greenhouses.
Clarke A. Hamlet - variance to permit the construction and maintenance of a
two-story addition to the existing one -family dwelling at 16 Bellflower Street,
which would have a yard of 11 feet on Emerald St. (not the frontage street),
instead of the 20 feet required by Section 27 of the Zoning By -Law.
Andrew Cupp - for permission to construct an additional greenhouse 35 feet
6 inches x 160 feet to be located at 171 Woburn Street.
Robert E. Fogg - permission to park not more than two (2) rental trucks
on the lot of the Texaco Station at 400 Lowell Street, the lot being located in
the CG (General Business District).
Jacob Rice, M.D. - permission to vary the applicable Section 25.40 of the
Zoning By -Law to allow the use of the second floor of the building presently known
and numbered 99 Waltham Street as an office for the practice of medicine.
Following the hearings, an executive session was held during which the
following decisions were made:
Mrs. Viola Norlin - granted.
S. Arthur and Alice G. Peterson - granted.
Clarke A. Hamlet - granted.
Andrew Cupp - granted.
Robert E. Fogg - denied.
Jacob Rice, M.D. - granted.
Sherman H. and Enid M. Starr (hearing held November 25, 1969) - denied.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
