A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on
Tuesday, October 28, 1969, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town
Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members
Sheldon, Abbott, Wadsworth and Dawes.
The following petitions were heard:
Mrs. William P. Howard - special permit to continue to operate a
nursery school for not more than 14 children in her home at 15 Ewell Avenue
from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., September through June.
Shell Oil Company - special permit to convert two rubbish enclosures (now
open) to enclosed storage rooms to be 9'6" x 12'2", on the rear of the existing
service station located at Bedford St. and Worthen Rd.
Lexington Auto Sales, Inc. - special permit to maintain two existing
signs at 409 Massachusetts Avenue.
Richard Harris, DVM - special permit to practice veterinary medicine
on the premises of 956 Waltham St., which will primarily be an out-patient
clinic with facilities to hospitalize animals that require surgery and/or
special care.
Roger A. Petrie - special permit to convert a single family residence
to a two-family residence at 19 Bedford St.
Chairman Nickerson announced the hearing for The 115 Kendall Corporation
had been postponed to a future date.
At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during which
the following decisions were made:
Mrs. William P. Howard - granted.
Shell Oil Company - granted.
Lexington Auto Sales, Inc. - granted permit for one oval sign to be
located on the southeast side or corner of the building.
Richard Harris, DVM - denied.
Roger A. Petrie - denied.
All pertinent material with regard to the above petitions is on file under
the name of each petitioner.
