BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS
September 9, 1969
A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday,
September 9, 1969 in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, Present
were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Abbott, Sheldon, Wadsworth and
Dawes. Hearings were opened at 7:30 p.m. as follows:
Lexington Liquor Mart, Inc. - a special permit to erect and maintain
on the southerly wall of its store at 58 Bedford St. a sign having a width
of 13 feet instead of the permitted 10 feet and a height of 1 foot 10 inches.
Robert A. and Susan G. Novick - a variance to permit the construction
of a wood deck along the easterly and northerly sides of the house located
at 11 White Pine Lane having a side yard of 12 feet instead of the required
15 feet and a front yard of 25 feet instead of the required 30 feet.
C. Edvard Burri - a variance of the zoning regulations to allow a
buildable lot to be subdivided from the lower right side of the 2 1/2 acres
site located at 34 Winter Street, creating a new lot consisting of. 30,000
sq. ft. with a 100 feet frontage.
Teena S. Sacco - a variance of the Zoning By -Law to permit 100 feet
frontage instead of the 150 feet required for three lots at 139 Wood St.,
each having the required 30,000 sq. ft. area.
Lexington Federal Savings and Loan Association - special permit to
erect and maintain a free standing sign at 11 Muzzey Street.
Lexington Gardens, Inc.- special permit to continue to sell at retail
at 93 Hancock Street nursery stock and allied products, including among
others fungicides, insecticides, mulches, and fertilizers, hand gardening
tools and equipment, sprinklers, plant containers, and supports and decorative
items used in connection therewith, wild bird feeders, food and houses; and
from December 5th to 24th inclusive, Christmas trees, wreaths, etc.
_Mrs. Ralph Schontag - special permit to continue operation of a
kindergarten for twelve children, five days a week, 9:00 a.m. to noon,
at her home, 296 Woburn Street.
At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during
which the following decisions were made:
Lexington Liquor Mart, Inc. - granted.
Robert A. and Susan G. Novick - granted.
C. Edward Burri - denied.
Teena S. Sacco - granted.
Lexington Federal Savings and Loan Association - denied.
Lexington Gardens, Inc. - granted, with conditions attached.
Mrs. Ralph Schontag - granted.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
