1 July 1, 1969
A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on
Tuesday, July 1, 1969, at 7:30 p.m, in the Selectmen's Room, Town
Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members
Dawes, Abbott, Wadsworth and Associate member Morey.
The following petitions were heard:
Daniel L. Corbett for a variance to maintain an existing building
at 11 Buckman Drive with a roof edge 13.5 feet from the lot line instead
of the required 15 feet side yard.
Charles D. Gerlinger for a variance from the Zoning By -Law to permit
part of a proposed carport at 4 Barberry Rd. to be located with a side
yard of 7 feet instead of the required 15 feet.
Teens S. Sacco for a variance to permit 100 feet frontage instead of
the 150 feet required for three lots at 139 Wood Street, each lot having
the required 30,000 sq. ft.
Hartwell Lexington Trust - a finding and determination that a pro-
posed 30,468 sq. ft. building lotatdd on a 6.9 acre lot, located on the
' northeasterly side±of Hartwell Ave. southeasterly of a building now
occupied by Hewlett Packard, will constitute a suitable development.
Hartwell Lexington Trust - a finding and determination that a pro-
posed 15,334 sq. ft. building, located on a 4.9+ acre lot, located on the
northeasterly side of Hartwellr.Avenue on the northwesterly side of the
Boston..& Main Railroad tracks, will constitute a suitable development.
Robert 0. Tillinghast for a variance to permit the use of Lot A,
corner of Vine and Woburn Sts, which has 126 ft. frontage instead of the
required 150 ft. and to permit a building lot on Lot B, 116 Woburn St.
which would have 80 ft. frontage instead of the required 150 ft. and
would have an area of 25,000 sq. ft. instead of the required 30,000 sq.
ft.
C$arles H. Cole II for a variance to permit the construction of a
single family dwelling on a lot having sufficient frontage but insuffi-
cient area (14,490 sq. ft. of land instead of the required 15,500 sq. ft.
of land), said lot being a combination of "B-1" and "B-2" as shown on
plan submitted herewith; or to permit the construction of a single family
dwelling on a lot having insufficient frontage (102.4 feet instead of the
required 125 feet) and insdfficient area (11,894 sq. ft. of land instead
of the required 15,500 sq, ft. of land), said lot being shown as lot
"B-2" on plan submitted. The parcel of land in question is situated on
Franklin Road between 4 Franklin Road and 10 Franklin Road.
Americana Corporation for a finding and determination under Section
12.3 and 13 of the Zoning By -Law that the proposed office building at
1034-1050 Waltham Street will constitute a suitable development.

' At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which
the following decisions were reached:
Daniel L. Corbett - granted.
Charles D. Gerlinger - granted a side yard of 9 feet instead of the
required 15 feet.
Teena S. Sacco - denied.
Hartwell Lexington Trust (building on 6.9 acre lot) - granted.
Hartwell Lexington Trust (building on 4.9+ acre lot) - granted.
Robert 0. Tillinghast - denied.
Charles H. Cole II- granted. Permitted to build a house on Lots B-1 and
B-2 on Franklin Road, containing 14,490 sq. ft. of land instead of the
required 15,500 sq. ft. with a sufficient frontage, according to
drawings 3-6, inclusive, by Charles H. Cole, II, Architect, or with
slight variations, with the conditions that construction start within
a period of one year and the building be built by Charles H. Cole, II
according to the drawings submitted.
Americana Corporation - withdrawn on July 1, 1969.
The meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
