HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-06-24BOARD OF APPEALS HEARING I June 24, 1969 A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, Pune 24, 1969, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Sheldon, Dawes, Wadsworth and Associate Member Morey, The following petitions were heard: Deflice Brothers Realty Trust for a variance to have a side yard of 44 feet instead of the 45 feet required for an office building at 21 Worthen Road. Clarke A. Hamlet for a variance to construct and maintain an addition to the existing one -family dwelling at 16 Bellflower St. which would have a yard of 11 feet on Emerald St. instead of the 20 feet required side yard. Donald Martin for a variance to construct and maintain an addition to the existing dwelling at 6 Marlboro Road, which would have a yard of 24.2 feet instead of the required 30 feet front yard. Richard Sparrow for a Binding and Determination that the proposed office building at 2 Militia Drive, shown in plans submitted, will con- atitute a suitable development and also a permit to develop special park- ing for 50% of the area at this time. Eric Sandquist for a variance to partially reduce the front yard from an existing 37 feet to 25 feet instead of the required 30 feet, for con- struction of an addition to an existing building at 24 James Street. Lexington Electronic Realty Trust for a permit to erect a 100 ft. self-sustaining communication tower for security and emergency use by Raytheon Company and Civil Defense Agency, to be located at the rear of 125 Spring street. Instrumentation Laboratory, Inc. for a special permit to erect a free standing sign in the front of a building located at 113 Hartwell Avenue on private property. Middlesex Tennis and Swim Club - permit to erect a sign at 475 Bedford St. At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which the following decisions were reached: Deflige Brothers Realty Trust - granted. Clarke A. Hamlet 2 anted. Donald Martin - granted. Richard Sparrow - Granted subject to provisions recommended by the Town Engineer. Eric Sandquist - granted. Lexington Electronic RealtXTrust - Granted subject to being recon- sidered two years from date, subject to its use as described in the application. A variance was granted to permit the installation to be 95 feet instead of the permitted 65 feet. Instrumentation Laboratory, Inc. - granted permission to install a Board of Appeals Hearing, June 24, 1969 -2 sign 8' x 4' on a poured concrete base. Quartz lighting will be permitted from dusk until 11:00 p.m. Middlesex Tennis and Swim Club - decision was deferred for 90 days. The meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m. 1 1 R. Dean Johnson Clerk
