HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-05-06BOARD OF APPEALS HEARING IMay 6, 1969 A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, May 6, 1969, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Dawes, Abbott, Wadsworth, and Sheldon. The following petitions were heard: Owen S. Lafley for permission to build a two -bar car wash building at 27 Massachusetts Avenue. Mrs. George Russell for a variance of the By -Laws to make an addition to the existing dwelling on 11 Rockville Avenue, leaving a back yard of 13 feet instead of the required 15 feet. Eric SandgMist for a variance to partially reduce the minimum front yard from an existing 37' to 25' instead of the required 30', house located at 24 James Street. William Curran for a variance to add an 18' x 22' addition with insuffi- cient frontage to an existing building at 61 Cliffe Avenue. Peter Sowkow for a variance to permit steps at the westerly side of the house at 52 Grassland Street with 12.1 feet instead of the required 15 feet side yard. Frank Compagnone for a special permit for a Planned Unit Development entitled "Springdale Estates, Lexington, Massachusetts" and located at 5 Bates Road. _ Americana Corporation for a finding and determination that the proposed office building at 1034-1050 Waltham Street, shown on plane submitted, will constitute a suitable development. At the close of the hearings, an executive session was held during which the following decisions were reached: Owen S. Lafley - granted. Mrs. George Russell - granted. Eric Sandquist - denied. William Curran - granted. Peter Bowkow - granted. Frank Compagnone - granted subject to the following conditions: 1. That drainage be effectively constructed in accordance with requirements of the Engineering Dept. of the Town of Lexington. 2. That the sewer be constructed to the edge of the property and carried from that point at the owner's expense to the various lots and Bates Road. Americana Corporation - denied.
