September 23, 1968
A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on
Tuesday, September 24, 1968, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room,
Town Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular mem-
bers Sheldon, Dawes, Abbott and Wadsworth.
The following petitions were heard:
Alvin L. Glick for a variance of the Lexington Zoning By -Law to
permit the construction of an addition to the house at 11 Russell Rd.
that would have a 9' side yard instead of the required 15' on the south-
westerly botder of the property.
John H. Asadoorian for a permit to build a swimming pool, size 20'
x 40', at #1 Todd Rd., which will have a rear yard 7 1/2 ft. on the south
side instead of the required 15 ft. This variance is requested for safety
reasons.
Radio Station WCOP for a variance of the Lexington Zoning By -Law to
permit the erection of a sign 3' x 3' plywood (non -illuminated) with a
10'0" clearance between the ground and bottom of sign, at 75 Concord Ave.
The sign will be 3'6" from the street instead of the required 30.0".
Vine Brook Swim Corp., for permission to install a swimming pool,
together with accessory buildings, on Lot 13, which is located on
Maureen Rd.
Arthur F. Douglass for a variance of the Lexington Zoning By -Law
to permit the location of chimney and trim with less than the required
50' from the lot line, namely 47 ft., in accordance with the plan sub-
mitted at the original hearing on December 19, 1967, for the Funeral
Home in C 4 District on Worthen rd. (between First National store and
Grace Chapel).
Lexington Gardens, Inc., (John H. Millican, President) for per-
mission to sell at retail at 93 Hancock St. nursery stock and allied
products including among others fungicides, insecticides, mulches and
fertilizers; hand gardening tools and equipment; sprinklers; plant con-
tainers and supports and deocrative items used in connection therewith;
wild bird feeders, food and houses; and, from December 10th to 24th
inclusive, Christmas trees, wreaths, etc.
Oneida Corp., for a special permit to subdivide a tract of land
according to the planned unit development requirements of the Town of
Lexington. The tract of land is located at 495 Bedford St., comprises
approximately 50 acres of land and is more commonly known as the
"Drummer Boy" land.
