HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-02-27BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS IFebruary 27, 1968 A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, February 27, 1968. Present were Chairman Nickerson and regular members Dawes, Sheldon and Wadsworth and associate Brodhead; also the secretary, Mrs. Macomber. Hearings were called to order at 7:30 p.m. as follows: Vernon and Olivette Rice - variance as it applies tbethe residential dwelling at 21 Hayward Ave., Lexington, by allowing said dwelling to continue to exist despite a nine foot side yard on the westerly side of the premises instead of the required ten foot side yard, and a twenty-six foot setback instead of the required thirty feet. Instrumentation Laboratory, Inc. Thomas A. Rosse, President, in connection with the building which is being constructed,at 113 Hart- well Ave., Lexington, to be allowed to build one large room containing 19,000 sq.ft. without a dividing partition. This undivided area would be in excess of the area limitations set forth in Sections 1 and 2 of Art. X of the Building By -Law. Lloyd H. Miller - permission to continue operation of a roadside stand at 973 Concord Ave., Lexington. ' Wilson Farm, Inc. — permission to continue operation of a roadside stand at #10 Pleasant St., Lexington. Albert B. Levin - variance for the purpose of constructing a two -car carport -garage at 18 Peacock Farm Rd. which would have a 20 -ft. setback from Peacock Farm Road instead of the required 30 feet, and a 10 ft. setback from Trotting Horse Dr. instead of the required 20 ft. Robert 0. Tillinghast - variance to permit two 2 -family units in rear of 465 and 475 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington. Ida G. Krebs - permission to erect a dwelling on part of Lots Al2, A5, A6, said dwelling to be used as a school for tutoring students with a maximum of 32 students at any one time. (Concord Ave.) Donald B. MacKay - for permission to construct at 162 Bedford St., Lexington, a 10' x 30' aluminum framed fibreglass awning to be attached to the right hand side of building and supported by four posts at the outside edge. This awning would be over an existing chain link fence. Following the hearings an executive session was held during which the following decisions were made: Vernon and Olivette Rice - granted Instrumentation Laboratory, Inc. - granted Lloyd H.
