BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS
IJanuary 23, 1968
A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the
Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, January 23, 1968.
Present were Chairman Nickerse0and regular members Abbott, Dawes and
Sheldon, associate member Farwell, and the secretary, Mrs. Macomber.
Hearings were called to order at 7:30 p.m. as follows:
LeRoy D. Haxton - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law in order to
remodel a kitchen at 64 Cliffe Ave, which would leave a side yard of
9'3" instead of the required 15 ft.
Kingston Homes, Inc. - a variance to allow the creation,of a legal
building lot in R 1 district, containing 27,696 sq.ft. instead of the
required 30,000 sq.ft. but in all other respects complying with said
zoning by-law. Said lot is shown as Lot 15B, Ingleside Road, on a plan
entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass., Owned by Kingston Homes,
Inc.", by MacCarthy Engineering Service. Said lot abuts the easterly
sideline of 38 Ingleside Rd.
Muzzey Corporation - a variance to allow the use of the premises at 24
and 26 Muzzey St., Lexington, which is in an R 1 district, for pro-
fessional office use.
R. J, Foley Realty Trust - variance to permit the construction of a
single family dwelling on Lot 166, Philip Road, shown as Lot 67B, Map
15 of the Assessor's map. Said lot has a frontage of 104.88 ft. in-
stead of the required 150 ft. and has an area of 18,889 sq.ft. instead
of the required 30,000 sq.ft.
Georgie E. and Grace F. Rowe - a variance to permit the construction of
an addition to the existing building located at 33 Bedford St., which
building has a side yard of three feet six inches and the proposed
addition would have a side yard of three feet six inches on the boundary
of the lot which abuts on an R 1 district; 2. permit the use of the
the property located at 33 Bedford St. (including the proposed addition)
to be used for an oil and greasing station, place of business for the
sale and installation of tires and other automobile accessories, garage
for storage and repair and salesrooms for motor vehicles; and 3. for
permission to use the existing sign post and sign now located on the
property at 33 Bedford St. with new lettering reading "Rowe Chevrolet"
as shown on plan submitted.
Following the hearings an executive session was held during which
the following decisions were made:
