HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-08-22BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS iAugust 22, 1967 A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Select- men's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, August 22, 1967. Present were regular members Abbott, Dawes and Wadsworth, associate members Emery and Blaisdell, and the secretary Mrs. Macomber. In the absence of Mr. Nickerson, Mr. Abbott chairmanned the hearings, which were called to order at 7:30 p.m., as follows: Mrs. Ralph Schontag - for permission to continue operation of a kindergarten for ten children, five days a week, 9:00 a.m. until noon, at her home, 296 Woburn St. Dunfey Corporation - for permission to add the word "Sheraton" to existing "Lexington Motor Inn" sign located on the roof of the premises at 727 Marrett Rd., Lexington. Muzzey Corporation - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law to allow the use of the premises at #24 and #26 Muzzey St., Lexington, which is in an R 1 district, for professional office use. Frank L. Martin - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law in order to build a 22 ft. x 24 ft. 2 -car garage at 140 Adams St. five feet from boundary line with 136 Adams St. instead of the required 15 ft. R.J.Foley Trust - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law in order to subdivide lot at 45 Percy Rd. (corner of Percy Rd. and Highland Ave.) into two lots, one of which would have sufficient area and frontage and one of which would have 12,550 sq.ft. area and 104.20 ft. frontage. Following the hearings an executive session was held during which the following decisions were made: Mrs. Ralph Schontag - granted Dunfey Corporation - granted Muzzey Corporation - denied Frank L. Martin - denied R.J.Foley Trust - granted All pertinent material with regard to the above petitions is on file in each individual folder. Some discussion was held regarding a few slight changes from original plans requested by the Lexington Housing Development. Since there seemed to be a question of legality involved in approving the changes, the decision was held over until Mr. Nickerson's return. The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m. Louise M. Macomber, Clerk
