HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-03-01BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS ' March 1, 1966 A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, March 1, 1966, in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Hoyt•, Sheldon and Wadsworth, associate member Mrs. Morey, and the secretary, Mrs. Macomber. At 7:30 p.m, the following petitions were heard: Wilson Farm, Inc. - for permission to continue roadside stand adjacent to #6 Pleasant St. Lloyd H. Miller - for permission to continue operation of road- side stand at 973 Concord Turnpike, also to sell Christmas trees, wreaths, etc. in the appropriate season. Robert 0. Tillinghast - for permission to use premises at 177 and 183 Bedford St. for a commercial garage for sale and repair of motor vehicles. Also to erect a free-standing sign approximately 5' x 7' . Mark Management (Lexington Motor Inn) - for permission to erect a temporary enclosure 12' x 30' for storage use until April, 1966, at the Lexington Motor Inn. Dr. Leonard V. Short - for a Finding and Determination that the proposed construction of an office building to be located at 1050 Wal- ' tham St., Lexington, will constitute a desirable development, not detrimental to the area. Hazel H. Woodberry - to vary the Lexington Zoning By-law in order to maintain house on recorded Lot #1 at 1454 Mass. Ave. and to permit building upon recorded Lot #2, 1454 Mass. Ave., neither of which has the legal frontage but does have the legal area. Ellwood C. Barrett - for permission to move printing business presently located at 21 Depot Sq., Lexington, in the C 2 - general business district, to #5 Wallis Court, Lexington, which is also located ' in the C 2 general business district. William T. Hardy - for permission to raze present one-story masonry building located at 915 Waltham St., Lexington, which is being used as a gasoline service station and repair garage, and to replace it with a Phillips Petroleum Company designed Colonial -type two -bay gasoline service station with one bay extended to Massachusetts inspection size, complete with two pump islands, underground storage for gasoline, fuel and waste oil, perimeter lights, curb cuts, drives, etc. as shown on accompanying plans, said new improvements to be used as a gasoline and oil service station for the storage and dispensing of gasoline, oil, oil products, petro -chemicals, automobile tires and accessories, and other goods, wares and merchandise.
