HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-09-15BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS September 15, 1964 A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, September 15, 1964, in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Build- ing, Lexington. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Hoyt, Ripley and Wadsworth, and associate member Farwell. The following petitions were heard: William and Iris Howard for permission to continue to operate kindergarten of two sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 P.M. in their home at 15 Ewell Avenue, Lexington. James P. Wright for permission to vary the Zoning By-law in order to maintain a structure located at 71 North Hancock St. which has a side yard of 7-1/2 ft. instead of the required 12 ft. and a side yard street set -back of 16 ft. instead of the required 20 ft. James J. Lima, Jr. for permission to vary the Zoning By-law in order to erect a swimming pool at 27 Eldred St. which would have an 8 -ft. rear yard instead of the required 15 ft. and one side yard which would have 8 ft. instead of the required 10 ft. James E. Farmer for permission to vary the zoning by-law in order to resubdivide lots 17 and 18 on Longfellow Road, as shown on a Plan of Land of Longfellow Estates, Section Two, approved by the Planning Board on Oct. 28, 1963, into three lots, listed as Lots #20, #21, and #22 on plan submitted, which would result in areas of 20,000 sq. ft. per lot in- stead of the 30,000 sq. ft. required. At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held during which the above requests were discussed, and the following decisions reached: William and Iris Howard - Granted 4-1, Mr. Ripley against James P. Wright - Granted unanimously James J. Lima, Jr. - Denied unanimously James E. Farmer - Denied unanimously All pertinent material with regard to the above petitions is on file under the name of each petitioner. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m. Louise M. Macomber, Clerk
