HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-09-26341 BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS September 26, 1961 A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, September 26, 1961. Present were Chairman Nickerson, members Ripley, Ballard and Redman, and associate member Hoyt. At 7:30 p.m. hearings were de- clared open on the following petitions: First National Stores - to erect and maintain sign 3 ft. x 4 ft., set on a single pipe pole at entrance to parking area at 60 Bed- ford St. Muriel E. York - to operate a day nursery, to be known as the Lexington Day Nursery., to care for not more than ten pre-school child- ren between the hours of 8:00 and 5:30 at 197 Grant St. Grace Chapel - to maintain a sign 216" x 3'6" with two new signs attached as wings, each 2' x 116". This combination of signs to be affixed to a brick -faced wall in the place of present sign at Grace Chapel on Worthen Rd. Marlin E. Whitne - to subdivide parcel of land at 1115 Mass. Ave. into w s, one or which has a structure on it, each lot having ' sufficient area but insufficient frontage. Anthony Gallo - to subdivide parcel of land at 2 Deming Rd. into twoo� sem, one- of which has a structure on it, both lots having in- sufficient area. Raytheon Company - to maintain free-standing directional sign, 4 ft. x 5 ft., appr�maafely 1,150 ft. from center of Spring St.; and also to maintain free-standing sign, 1-1/2 ft. x 919", 59 ft. from center of Spring St. and 10 ft. from access driveway to the building. The Atlantic Refining Co. - to maintain two non -conforming free- standing s gns a sere ce stamen located at corner of Lowell and Woburn Sts. At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held durs ing which the following decisions were reached: First National Stores - granted Muriel E. York - granted Grace Chapel - granted Marlin E. Whitney - granted Anthony Gallo - granted Raytheon Co. - granted The Atlantic Refining Co. - one sign granted ' All pertinent material with regard to each petition is on file in individual folders.
