BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS

The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's
Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, June 27, 1961. Present were
Chairman Nickerson, regular members Ballard, Ripley and Redman, and
associate member Tucker. At 7:30 p.m. hearings were declared open upon
the following petitions:
Dr. David L. Singer - to rent a suite from Mrs. John P. Whalen,
11 Harrington Rd. for the practice of internal medicine from September
1, 1961 through March 1962.
Howard W. Foley - to practice optometry at his residence at 5
Harrington Rd.
Mrs. Bernard Esecson - to build an addition to existing dwell-
ing at 10 Fiske Rd. which would result in insufficient side yard.
Colonial Garage! Inc. - to install in the place of the present
flashing sign a new double-faced, single sheet, porcelain enamel sign
at 1668 Mass. Ave.
Frederick Rodd - to sell Christmas trees and wreaths at 764
Mass. Ave. from December 8 through Dec. 23, 1961, proceeds going to the
Follen Church.
Esso Standard Oil Co. - to maintain a free standing sign (Esso
Oval) at 10 Woburn St.
At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held dur-
ing which the following decisions were reached'
Dr. David L. Singer - denied
Howard W. Foley - denied
Mrs. Bernard Esecson - granted
Colonial Garage, Inc. - granted
Frederick Rodd - granted
Esso Standard Oil Co. - granted
All pertinent material with regard to the above petitions is on
file in each individual folder.
