BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS
August 23,1960
The Board of Appeals held hearings on Tuesday, August 23, 1960
in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. At 7 30 p.m. hearings
were declared open on the following petitions;
Alex MacMillan - to erect a house on Lot 18 and part of Lot 17
on Sylvia St. which will not have required setback or side yard.
George L. Stevens - to add porch to existing house at 15 Moreland
Ave. which would result in insufficient side yard.
Walter L. Clark - to erect two temporary signs directing to land
for sale, both signs to be 4' x 4', one sign to be erected on property be-
longing to John Coyne, 34 Woburn St. and one sign to be erected on peti-
tioner's property, Lot 4, Hayes Lane.
Minola Black - to modify lot line of property on corner of 11
Highland Ave. and Minola Road which would result in two lots with insuf-
ficient area, and lot at 11 Highland Ave. would have insufficient rear yard.
Mrs. Anne Zirpolo - to erect sign 30" x 16' above the right hand
window on the first floor of the Battle Green Inn, 1720 Mass. Ave.
Mrs. Ralph Schontag - to operate a kindergarten between the hours
of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, for not more than ten children, at her home
at 296 Woburn St.
Violet H. Broughall - to operate a kindergarten for not more than
ten children in any one session at her home, 922 Mass. Ave.
At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held during
which the following decisions were made:
Alex MacMillan - granted
Walter L. Clark - denied
Minola Black - denied
Mrs. Anne Zirpolo - granted
Mrs. Ralph Schontag - granted
Violet H. Broughall - granted
All pertinent material with regard to the above petitions is on
file in each individual folder.
