HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-02-05 x_33 BURD OF APPEALS HEARINGS February 5,1957 A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, February 5, 1957 in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. At 8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open on thekfollowing petitions: Palladino Bros. Co. - to conduct a contracting and landscaping business, including stockpiling and sale of loam, fill, sandand gravel one parcel of land located on Massachusetts Ave. starting at 201 and proceeding easterly on Mass. Ave. for a distance of 479 ft. more or less. Richard H. Singleton - to vary the Lexington Zoning By-law in order to maintain tool nouse at 379 Woburn St. which is located on the rear lot line and 15 ft. from the side lot line. F. P. Morgan Co. - to erect one real estate sign 8 x 10 ft. on the property now controlled by Stephen Hopkins et ala, and comprising approx. 18 acres, located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Rte. 128 and Mass. Ave. This sign would be located about 50 ft. in from the State Highway fence on the west side of Rte. 128 and approx. 200 ft. south from the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Rte. 128. N.E. Tel. and Tel. Co. - to erect a one-story addition, approx. 20 ft. by 'pi ft. on the rear of the Dial Telephone Exchange Building on premises numbered 73 Waltham St., said premises being in a C 2 gen- eral business district, under Sec. 5(a)7.e. of the Zoning by-law of the Town of Lexington. Carol H. Ingraham - to operate a pre-school class for 5-year-olds ♦t #5 Downing Rd., Lexington. At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during which the following decisions were reached: Palladino Bros. Co. - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) this permit will expire June 20, 1957. (2) all materials shall be trucked to and from the property by way of athe driveway entering on to Bow St. and any loose material dropped from the trucks on to Bow St. shall be promptly removed from the street. (3) the hours of operation shall be restricted from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. six days a week. (4) Water, or a sprinkler system shall be used to control dust, especially on the driveway leading to Bow St. (5) there shall be no expansion of the present operation. (6) only equipment regularly used in the business shall be parked or stored on the premises. (7) the premises shall at all times be kept in a neat and orderly condition. (8) all material dropped on Bow St. and Mass. Ave. contiguous to this property shall be removed at once by this petitioner. Richard H. Singleton - denied F.P.Morgan Co. - denied N.E.Tel. & Tel.
