BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS
July 214, 1956
A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, July 249
1956 at 8:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. At
8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open upon the following petitions:
Church of Our Redeemer - to erect a steeple on the building now being
constructed at 6 Meriam St. to extend 109 ft. above grade with the under-
standing that at the 50 ft. level a concrete slab will be installed with a
self-closing metal door for fire protection, and that adequate provision
will be made to prevent the steeple from being damaged by lightning.
Charles H. Murray - to erect a single family dwelling, ranch type, of
wood construction on Lot 97 and half of 96 located on Robbins Ave.
Brant W. Patten - to maintain an existing lot and dwelling at b Cary
St. which will have only a 6191 side yard instead of the required 10 ft.
on the left hand side and will have 6,983 sq.ft. of area instead of 7,500.
Frank M. HodFdonl- to subdivide a parcel of land at 70 Reed St. in
order to make a building lot which would not have the frontage required by
the Zoning By-law and to erect a single family dwelling thereon.
W. J. Gaynor, Jr. - to erect a garage and connecting breezeway to be
located at t3 Minute-man Lane which would not have the side yard required
by the Zoning By-law
James A. Carrig - to continue the use of the temporary real estate
office at the corner of Pleasant St. and Concord Ave.
At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during
which the following decisions were reached:
Church of Our Redeemer - granted
Charles H. Murray - granted, substantially in accordance with plot
plan submitted, which would have the necessary side and rear yards but only
26 ft. front yard.
Bryant W. Patten - granted
Frank M. Hodgdon - denied
W. J. Garnor, Jr. - denied
James A. Carrig - granted, subject to the following conditions: that
the premises shall be kept in a neat and orderly condition; that this per-
mit shall expire July 1, 1957.
