BOARD OF APPEALS BEARINGS
June 26, 1956
A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Taesdiy, June 26,
1966 in the Selectmenfs Room, Town Office Building. At 8:00 p.m.
hearings were declared open upon the following petitions:
Bernard C. Maloney� - to erect a free standing sign 81 x k'
located at Jr Woburn St. which would be illuminated with fluorescent
tubes.
Rosewell M. Boutweil - to erect a free standing sign 6' x 50 at
55 Mass. Ave. worm wi i not conform to the Building By-law.
Charles L. Hibbar4, JJr.�. - to so design all walls of the all-pur-
pose room at the Josiah Willard Haden Recreation Centre, 24 Lincoln
St. so that they will be 168 thick instead of 24" thick; the long walls
of the Boys' and Girls' Club wings so that they would be 12" thick
instead of 16" thick; and elle xterior and interior foundations so
that they need to be no thicker than the walls above them; with the
specific provision that these foundation walls shall be steel rein-
forced in accordance with the best engineering practice, substantially
in acoordance with the floor plans submitted.
Donald and Me Colpitts - to subdivide a lot of land located at
1099 Mass. Ave. having onSy a 10 ft. frontage on Mass. Ave. but having
a 206 ft. frontage on Maple St. so that the rear part of the lot would
be out off to form a new lot "A2-B" having a frontage on Maple St. of
103 ft., a depth of approxinate].y 250 ft., and an area of 28,600 sq.
ft. and that permission be granted to erect a single family dwelling
on this lot, having the necessary front and side yards. According to
the Colpitts request, they would be allowed to maintain the existing
house and garage on Lot "A2-A".
At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during
which the following decisions were reached:
Bernard C. Maloney - denied
Roswell M. Bouttnll - denied
Charles L. Hibbard, Jr. - granted
Donald and Madge Colpitts - granted
