HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956-01-17C� Lei BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS January 17, 1956 A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, January 17, 1956• At 8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open on the following petitions: Nancy M.�H Hyatt, - to operate a nursery -kindergarten at 190 Grove St. 5 days a week from 9 to 12 and 1 to 4. Mrs. Hyatt was a graduate of Wheelock College, and would have a full time assistant. The room to be used by the school was a basement room, withone window and no direct exit to the outside. Harvey W.�New en�t - to maintain a real estate office at the B&M RR Depot, #10 Depot SSq. and to erect a sign 36" x 72". East St. Wilda M. Ward - to continue the operation of nursery group at 233 Harold Michelson - to erect an addition at the rear of 1788 Massachusetts Ave. as s own on plan submitted, the rear gall of which would be exactly on the lot line of the new municipal parking area. Francis P. Miller - to locate, as a permanent residence, a 1956 Liberty Mobile Home rai er) at 197 Woburn St. Ernest J. Corr�ian'- to subdivide the land on Marrett Rd., now or formerly own as ear er land, into 5 building lots, each with a front- age of 119.73 feet, as shown on plot plan submitted. Ernest DeVincent - to continue the operation of roadside stand located at the corner ­oPleasant St. and Concord Turnpike, for one year. At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during which the following decisions were reached: Nancy M. Hyatt - denied Harvey W. Newgent - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) that the existing 300 x 36" sign attached to the building be removed; (2) that not more than two lights may be used to illuminate the new sign provided they are located on each of the supporting posts so that they will not in any way shine on the roadway; (3) this permit expires Dec. 2, 1956. Wilda M. Ward - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) that the premises shall be kept in a neat and orderly condition at all times; (2) that not more than 10 children shall be accommodated at one time; (3) that an automatic door closing device, with a latch out of reach of the children, shall be provided on the door to the heater roam; this permit shall expire Oct. 25,1956. Harold Michelson - denied Francis P. Miller - denied Ernest J. Corrigan - denied Ernest DeVincent - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) that the premises shall be kept in a neat and orderly condition; (2) that only the products of the land of the owner that is within the Town of 81 82 8] Lexington shall be sold; (j) that this permit shall expire November 29, 1956.
