HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-11-1575 BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS November 15, 1955 A regular meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, November 15, 1955 At 8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open on the following petitions: Albert W. Dillon - to erect a two-bedroom addition 14' x 22' attached to existing dwelling at 8 Balfour St. which would have a sideyard of 10 ft. instead of 15 ft. as required under the Zoning By-law. Countryside,, Inc. - to erect a building consisting of four stores 16t Lowell and Woburn Sts. connecting the existing garage and the existing store building, which would come to within 11 ft. of the rear lot line. . Wal -Lex Motor Co. Inc - to use the land adjacent to the garage and salesroom now situated at 915 Waltham St. for the sale of new and used cars, subject to the following conditions: (1) that not more than 15 cars shall be displayed at any one time; (2) that cars offered for ' sale shall be set back from Waltham St. in line with the front of the present showroom; (3) that all repair work and storage of parts and equipment shall be within the building; (4) that the existing string of lights shall be removed, and that the flood lights located on the pole shall be so focused as not to interfere with traffic on the highway or be a nuisance to the neighbors; (5) there shall be no second-hand car signs; (6) the premises shall be closed and the lights extinguished by 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday -and at 5:OO p.m. on Saturday, and the premises shall be closed all day Sunday to customers and visitors. At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during which the following decisions were made: Albert W. Dillon - granted Countryside, Inc. - granted, providing construction shall commence not later than November 1, 1956. Wal -Lex Motor Co., Inc. - granted with above conditions ' Ernest E. Outhet (2) - granted, provided that each sideyard shall not be less than 8 feet and the setback and rear yard shall comply with the requirements of the Lexington Zoning and Building By-laws.
