BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS
IJuly 6, 1955
A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's
Room, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, July 6, 1955.
At 8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open upon the following
petitions:
Palladino Bros. Co. - to conduct a contracting and landscaping
business incMing 7-o-cYpiling and sale of loam, fill and gravel on a
parcel of land located on Massachusetts Avenue, starting at #201 and
proceeding easterly on Mass. Ave. for a distance of 479 ft. more or
less.
Fred E. Hastin s Jr. - to use a portion of the single family
dwelling To be erected a�'I60 Waltham St. as an office for the practice
of Optometry.
Gabriel M. Bello - to erect a single family dwelling on lots 21
and 22 located at t Fecorner of Ward and Centre Sts.
John E. Allen - to subdivide a parcel of land known as Lot B2
located on Lowell St. into three building lots.
James A. Carrig - to continue the use of the temporary real es-
tate of ick' e at the corner of Pleasant St. and Concord Ave.
Nishan Haroian - to continue to operate roadside stand at 353
Concord Ave.
Anthony R. Cataldo - to continue to use the existing building at
703 Mass. Ave. for the processing, warehousing and selling of frwsh fruit
and vegetables, subjectato the following conditions: (1) that only
products of the land of the owner of the stand that is within the Town of
Lexin#ton shall be sold; (2) that the cars of customers shall not be
parked on the highwal; (3) that this Permit shall expire July 1, 1956;
(4) the premises shall be kept in a neat and orderly condition.
Maple St. School Building Committee - to construct the school
sewer and rain at the Maple S coo withi1'n the building with a rise
of not less than 1/811 per ft. rather than 1/y« per foot specified in
Sec. 13 of the Lexington Plumbing By-law.
At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during
which the following decisions were rendered:
Palladino Bros. - granted, subject to the following restrictions:
(1) Permit shall expire on Dec. 15 1955; (2) All materials shall be
' trucked to and from the property by way of the driveway entering on to
Bow St.; (3) the hours of operation shall be restricted from 7 a.m. to
6 p.m. six days a week; (L) water, or a sprinkler system shall be used
to control dust, especially on the driveway leading to Bow St.; (5)
there shall be no expansion of the present operation; (6) all vehicles
and pieces of equipment not regularly being used in the business shall be ;
removed from the premises at once. Miscellaneous automobile and truck
parts; tires, and equipment now stored on the premises and around the
tool shed shall be stored under cover or out of sight from ilass. Ave. and
all other loose material, such as lumber, shall be neatly stored or re-
moved from the premises.

James A Carrig - granted, subject to the condition that this
Permit shall expire July 1, 1956.
Nishan Haroian - granted, subject to the following conditions:
(1) that only products of the land of the owner of the stand that is
within the Town of Lexington shall be sold; (2) that the cars of cus-
tomers shall not be parked on the highway; (3) that this Permit shall
expire July 1, 1956; (b) the premises shall be kept in a neat and
orderly condition.
