HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-03-1733 BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS March 17, 1955 A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, Tuesday, March 17, 1955 At 8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open upon the following petitions: William Berube - to subdivide parcel of land at 581 Lowell St. into two o s, eacfi of which would have a frontage less than the require- ments of the Lexington Zoning By-law. Esso Standard Oil Co. - to enlarge the present service station and lubritorium at 10 Woburnt. substantially in accordance with the plans submitted. John C. Harkness - to erect an addition to the existing dwelling at 34 Moon Hill Rdw ich would be 21 feet from the street line at its nearest point; and to use, in connection with this addition, the Van Packer chimney. Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints - to erect a sign approxi- mately 3 ft. by b ft. at 1306 Mass. Ave. on Me church property. Lloyd H. Miller - to continue the operation of roadside stand at 973 Conco d Turn�e: Louis Rosendorn - to erect a single family dwelling on each of Lots "A", "B" and "C" with a set back on each lot of not less than 20 ft. from the frontage street. Lots "A" and "B" being located on Cliffe Ave. and Lot "C" on Fottler Ave. At the close of the hearings an executive session was held at which the following decisions were reached: William Berube - denied Esso Standard Oil Co - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) that the new concrete ramp at the easterly corner of the premises shall be so located as to make unnecessary removal of the 36 inch tree on Woburn St. (2) That the present ramp furthest from Fletcher Ave. shall be removed. Curbing shall be placed along the entire Woburn St. front except for the entrances, and sidewalk and grass plot shall be provided for also along the entire Woburn St. frontage, except for the entrances. (3) That no wrecked automobiles shall be stored in the increased area easterly of the lubritorium. (4) The premises shall be kept in a neat and orderly con- dition at all times. I John C. Harkens - granted Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) that the sign shall be set back at least 50 feet from the street line. (2) that the top of the sign shall be not more than 6 feet above the ground. (3) that the sign may be,illuminated only on evenings when use is being made of the Church property, and the lights so adjusted and focused as not to be objectionable to persons living in the neighborhood. Lloyd H. Miller - granted, subject to the following conditions: (1) that the premises shall be kept in a neat and orderly condition; (2) that there shall be no flood lighting of the premises; (3) that no parking of cars shall be permitted on the Concord Turnpike; (4) that the permit shall expire April 1, 1956; (5) that only products of the land of the owner of the stand that is within the Town of Lexington shall be sold on the premises.
