HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-10-14BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS October 14, 1954 A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, Tuesday, October 14, 1954 At 8:00 p.m. hearings were declared open upon the following petitions: Russell S. Davenport - to erect a flower room addition 26' x 30' tote existing greenhouse at 482 Bedford St. George E. Stone - to erect a sign on his dwelling at 2287 Mass. Ave., bearing a word "Insurance." William H. Sullivan - to erect single family dwellings on Lots 32 and 39 HillcrestSt. Lexington Methodist Church - to erect two signs, one 4'x6' and one 41x61 approximately 3n the locations shown on the sketch submitted, both to be set back not less than 25 feet from the street lines. Mrs. HarrW. Cram Jr. - to operate a primary school for not more thanten c tween the ages of 2 and 5-1/2 years at #759 Waltham St., five days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wilson Farm Inc. - to continue to operate roadside stand adjacent to #6 Pleasant St. William Graham.Jr_. - to operate a funeral home on the premises numbered ass. Ave. At the close of the hearings an executive session was held dur- ing which the following decisions were reached: Muriel C. Stone, Clerk Russell S. Davenport - Granted George E. Stone - Denied William H. Sullivan - Denied Lexington Methodist Church - Granted -subject to the condition that the signs are to be removed not later than November 1, 1956. Mrs. Harry W. Cram Jr. - Granted -subject to the following condi- tions: 1. That the school shall be operated only during the usual school year; 2. That the outside play area shall be enclosed by a satisfactory fence; 3. That the children shall be properly supervised at all times; 4. That this permit shall expire September 30, 1955 Wilson Farm Inc. - Granted -subject to the following conditions: 1. That the premises shall at all times be kept in a neat and orderly condition; 2. That no cars shall be allowed to park on Pleasant St.; 3. That no floodlights shall be installed; 4. That only vegetables, fruit and poultry products grown on the land of the petitioner that is within the Town shall be sold; 5.
