BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS
' May 122 1950
A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's
Room, Town Office Building on May 12, 1950. At 8:00 p.m. hearings were
declared open on the following petitions:
Henry J. Tremblay - to erect a single-family dwelling and
attached garage on o s 39, 40 and 41 at the corner of Harding and
Simonds Rds. in accordance with plot plan.
N. Haroian - to erect a sign 6 ft. by 3 ft., 6 ft. aboke the
ground, at 573Concord Ave.

John C. Brackett - to erect a single -car garage 2 ft. from thel
northwest o eon the premises at 8 Glen Rd. in accordance with
plot plan.
William T. Welsh - to erect a so-called Willis type house on
lots 22,�4 aMc one half of lot 25, Preston Rd., in accordance with
plot plan.
C. Hewn Jackson - to convert the single-family dwelling at 28
Forest S. into a two-family dwelling in accordance with plans sub-
mitted.
Recreation Committee - to erect an accessory building at the
Lexington Tenter Playground in accordance with plans submitted.
Mass. Institute of Technology - to erect one steel -frame and
sheet -metal, and one wood -frame -warehouse at 238 Wood St. in accordame
with drawings and plot plan submitted.
At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held dur-
ing which the following decisions were reached:
Henry J. Tremblay - granted
N. Haroian - granted with the condition that the sign shall bd
located not nearer than 10 ft. from the street line.
Recreation Committee - granted
John G. Brackett- granted.
William T. Welsh - granted with the following conditions: that
._the side yards shall not be less than 15 ft. Also with the following
conditions: 1) that 4 x 8 wooden posts shall be used in place of 3n
la.11y columns: 2) that corner posts be installed in each corner; 3) that
no native pine shall be used for supporting structures; 4) that if an
electric hot water system is installed it shall be located above a
supporting partition; 5) that all rafters shall be one piece and not
spliced.
C. Henry Jackson - granted with the exception that the new
stairway from the second floor shall be placed at the rear of the builld-

ing and that only one single entrance door shall be used in the front '
of the building, and further subject to the condition that the changes
hhall conform with the requirements of the Building By-law of the Town
of Lexington.
Mass. Institute of Technology - granted.
All pertinent material with regard to the above petitions is on
file in each individual folder.
