A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's
Room, Town Office Building, on May 6, 1949. Chairman Locke,
Messrs. Houdlette, Redman, Lynah and Ripley were present. The! clerk
was also present.
At 8:02 p.m. hearings were declared open on the following
petitions:
Howard F. Baldwin for permission to erect, at 1 Briggsad,
a dwelling and garage which would not have the required side y4rd.
Bessie 0. Withrow for permission to operate a gift and antique
shop in one room of the guest house at 73 Waltham Street.
Doris Bowker for permission to erect, on Lot C Cherry St eek
a tiro -car garage which would not have the required setback froo the
street.
David Buttrick Co. for permission to erect, at 384 Bedford
Street, a bulletin -type sign, 231 x 8-1/21, illuminated by 3 gojase-
neck reflectors with 150 -watt bulbs, supported on wooden posts,j70,
' back from the street line.
The hearings were declared closed at 9:01 p.m. and the folow-
ing decisions reached in executive session:
David Buttrick Co - unanimously denied
Doris Bowker - unanimously denied
Bessie Withrow - unanimously granted
Howard Baldwin - unanimously granted
The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
