HomeMy WebLinkAbout1933-05-16BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING ' MAY 16, 1933. A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. Messrs. Maddison, Glynn, Baldrey, Ferguson and Robbins were present. The Board decided to lag the matter on the table for one week. A true record, Attest; Hearing was held jointly with the Board of Selectmen, and was declared open at 8;15 on the application of Esther R. Bskmea for permission to maintain a garage on land at 12 Sheridan Street. The Chairman of the Board of Selectmen announced that the hearing had been duly advertised in the Lexington Minute -Man and the Clerk of the Board of Appeals read the notice of the Board of Appeals which had been dd*ertised in the Lexington Minute -Man. Dr. William L. Barnes, representing Esther R. Barnes, appeared and stated that the lot was triangular in shape and the street is an unaccepted street, and in order to place the garage on the lot it would be located within twenty feet of the street line. He stated that his tenants asked for a two car garage and he would like to be able to give it to them. In this connection he also called attention to the bridge across the brook which he has built up so people could go across although he did not see why he should have to do it as he felt it was a duty of the Town. ' Dr. Barnes, upon question asked by a member of the Board of Appeals, stated that he was not sure whether he could locate a one ear garage on the lot without coming within twenty feet of the street line owing to the fact that the street is not accepted. He presented two plans, and stated that he would prefer the plan that the garage be located on the same line with the house. There was no opposition to the application. The Board decided to lag the matter on the table for one week. A true record, Attest;
