Meeting I February 28 , 1969 Article 43 of the 1968 Annual Town Meeting authorized the appoint- mont of a comrittee to study the feasibility of establishing a Muntcipa Data Procesing Center for the use of any deo,%Etmunt, officie, bcard, committo and wiencv of the Town, in using the ,3choo1 committee and any public authority within the Town, The committee %,y1; instructed to report to the Annual Town Meeting of 1969. Its members were to be appointed by the Moderator, and be composed of town meeting members and representatives from the Appropriation Committee, Capital Expenditures Committee , School Committee, Board of Se/ectmen, and the Comptroller. The following committee was appointed: John R. Bavano Town Meeting Member r Robert V. Whitman, Town Meeting Member Edward E. Furael, Appropriation Committee Member jack L. Mitchell„ Capital Expenditures Committee Member Robert H. varwell, School Coimittee Member Allan 1% Kenney, Board of Selectman Member Richard M. Perry Comptroller The committee WAS named in late Say, 1968 . Its first organizational meeting was hold in early Junco at which time Richard M, Pery was elect- ed chairman. The comittee met with the School Committee eand discussed the present equipment used by them (including their punch card equipment) and the various applications on it . The uses of the ncw eauipment to be purchas- ed under project LOCAL was also discussed, ;tnd its future possible use by the Town, Meetings were also held with other departments to discuss their mede or opgration.
