Hutchinson, Jr. Minutes - Executive Session - School Sites Conversion Committee - November 25 The meeting was called to order at 11:30 a.m. Those present were Mrs. Miley, Mr. Hutchinson, Mr. Fields, Mr. Brown and Mrs. \Wheaton. The Committee discussed various options for the Parker School area recognizing that the Selectmen plan to take the lead on this issue designating its use. The Committee felt that they should give some general reaction to the proposals and comments received during the process so that the Selectmen might be aware of the general observations of the Committee. The Committee unanimously felt that commercial development was the least desirable. The Committee further felt that residential use for housing was the desirable use. It was felt that no more than 30 units should be allowed to be developed but that the abutting piece should still be considered at this point in time for development if recreational space can be maintained for the neighborhood. A majority of the Committee felt that rental units would be an appropriate use for the building with some level of commitment to subsidized housing, perhaps a percentage of the units to be built. The minority felt that this proposal while desirable would not be as favorable as condominiums being developed with a portion of those condominiums being committed to family housing. All Committee members felt that these were both desirable proposals for the Selectmen to consider. It was agreed to convey these general thoughts to the Selectmen Monday evening. The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m. Robert M. Hutchinson, Jr.
