Li.brarian's Report - Grace Er��an offered her research capability to any of the WEN10 members who needed such work and displayed the materials already acimailated for the WEMO libnary. John Lovej.oy of Wilbraham offered his t�r+ade disco�t of 30-40� for the pum.1-iase of boaks for the Wf�IO collection if such books were needed. , � Namination Selection Carcuruttee - Joan Gar�]ner described the way in which the i o�rrnr�.ttee works. It seeks to find those interested ir� being naninated for ' oomni.ttees or taskforoes either within the League or in state governr�nent. It was noted that a rquest had been made for two names for subrni.ssion for the Unequal Education Cariunittee, which will participate in changing school ai.d formulas. Legislative Cammittee - Peg Spengler reported on the school boncling bill, a late filed bill of real—'—impoat*tance to those with boncling issues pending, filed by Rotundi. Sheila Cheimets reported on the OSHA bill and other legislation still before the legislature. OSHA is before coim�ittee awaiting word whether the amend- ments making it a voluntary program would be adopted. Rescission bill has passed the House and is in the Senate while �npulsory and binding arbitnation bill filed jointly by the mluiicipal groups and the unions is iri the House having passed the Senate. Joint Dues Corim,ittee - Nancy �:dc�y reported on the efforts of the two associations to work together in a cost effective and generally effective way. It is a real threat that some cors¢nunities will drop one association membership or the other not realizing that it takes both sets of dues to support the joint effort. The c�nmittee recomnended a joint dues agree,ment with a single statement to each city and taan. T'he critical issue now, she said, is that if the joint effort falls aPart naw, r�i.cipal goverrm►ent will be in trouble in relation with the legislature and she urged support of the article on the MSA town meeting floor.
