Skip called the meeting to order at 7 15 p m
WEB PAGE
-Skip went over the background and mission of Commission 2000 for the
representatives of Point of View
-Kevin Barrett of Point of View showed several examples of the work that
Point of View has done for clients Most of their work is done for
companies to use in-house
-John Horn went over the Point of View proposal step by step Updated
proposal was handed out He explained the different levels of
sponsorship for the web page (for more info and clarification see
handout) POV will underwrite 4 platinum and 20 gold until they are sold
to get the page up and running
-The web page would be built in stages rather than all at once with
different sections appearing for for a few months at a time and then
removed and replaced with other sections (hope to encourage repeat
visits to the page this way)
-Point of View's proposal was viewed favorably by the committee,
however, Skip needs to talk to Dan Busa regarding costs Skip will get
back to Point of View by Wednesday, 10/28/98
FUNDRAISING
-Mike Ruth and Rho Harrison from Pro-Active Charities gave an update on
the November fund-raising dinner Response has been slow due to various
reasons Discussion followed on several different companies to target
for potential interest in contributing Mike hopes to make the dinner a
success
-George Comtois will write a letter to The Boston Globe Foundation and
the Boston Herald requesting funding from their 1999 charitable budgets
for the year 2000 celebration
TREASURER
-George distributed a Treasurer's report It was unchanged from the
previous report

TOWN CELEBRATION LIAISON
-Suzie distributed a copy of an e-mail sent to Skip regarding concerns
that the Town Celebrations Committee has with the Lexington Commission
2000 events planned for Patriots Day Weekend 2000
