MINUTES OF LEXINGTON COMMISSION 2000
MEETING OF JULY 21, 1998
ROOM 111, TOWN HALL, LEXINGTON, MA
PRESENT. Skip Hayward, Jim Roberts, Suzie Barry, Pat Flynn,
Rob Neufeld
EXCUSED: George Comtois (Vacation) , Lou Sideris, Dan Busa
GUESTS: Fred Smyrlas, All Pro Productions

Skip called the meeting to order at 7 : 10 p.m.
The minutes of the June 16, 1998 meeting were accepted as received by
e-mail.
FUNDRAISING:
-Fred Smyrlas of All Pro Productions gave a background of his company.
-Skip gave a background of the Commission and our mission for the year
2000.
-Fred and Rick Hiytte gave the following ideas as potential fundraising
opportunities: commemorative book, fundraising dinner for executives
with Patriots players in attendance, VIP tents at events, sell ad space
in commemorative book, t-shirts, telemarketing.
-There was discussion over having a liasion between All Pro and the
Commission to prevent "bumping heads".
-There was discussion over the potential for confussion with the last
night group in town - which has already started their fundraising.
-Fred suggested keeping "the Town" informed on fundraising progress thru
local newspaper advertisements, radio or tv (he has a radio and cable tv
show)
-All Pro has two corporations one is a 501 c 3 and the other a S Corp.
-Any money from fundraising would come in to the Commission and we would
then pay All Pro They would provide a weekly update on fundraising
efforts.
-There was extensive discussion over what would go in a commemorative
book and where they would be sold. (local retail outlets, Boston Hotels
etc. . )

-Skip reminded everyone that no matter what was decided on it would need
to be tastefully done and meet with the approval of the Selectmen.
-Rick and Fred said they would have a proposal to Skip in the next week
or so.
-Skip said he will call a special meeting of the Commission to go over
the proposal.
-Jim Roberts agreed to call about a half dozen of All Pro' s references
-Guests left at 8 p.m.
-Skip talked about other fundraisers he has spoken with - most are
consultants for a fee and don't "do it all"
CHAIRMAN:
-Skip approved the order of 20, 000 bookmarks that will be placed around
town. They will be done on parchment with brown ink. Rob will talk to
Wayne McCarthy about redesigning the bookmark.
-Skip has spoken to Claudio Tracana of Spider Web Design. He will be at
the next meeting with sample banners.
-Skip is meeting with Bob Sacco in early August about being the business
liasion.
