Y2K Awareness/Communication Team

Date/Time: July 7, 1999

Present: Joe Marino, Diane Snell, Donna Hooper, Rosa Tsai, and Linda Vine
Absent: Steve Corr and Ray Carberry
• The team reviewed and edited a draft of a press release for July It was then agreed to
send the edited release out to the groups on our mailing list
• The team discussed the Y2K Community Readiness meeting that Ray attended on June
14, 1999 One of the issues is how to deal with citizen groups that are starting to
become active Joe agreed to contact Arlington and Concord to inquire about how
they are handling the issue, about their community outreach efforts, and about how
they are organizing their outreach efforts
• Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved with changes
• The team discussed the general plan for the next series of press releases It was
agreed that after the July release we would focus more on personal preparedness and
issues of readiness The Team also agreed to hold a public forum at the Council on
Aging and a forum for the public later in the year
• The Team agreed that the Y2K Team should discuss the subject of the
Awareness/Communication Team preparing a brochure/handout for the citizens of
Lexington Joe said that he would call Ray, who is also on they Y2K Team, to see if he
will be attending the Y2K Team meeting and whether he would bring up the subject
He will report at the next meeting
The next meeting of the Y2K Awareness / Communication Team is scheduled for
Wednesday, July 28 in Room 111 at 3 00 p m
