Minutes
Date/Time: June 15 1999
Location. Room 105
Present: Joe Marino, Diane Snell, Donna Hooper, Rosa Tsai and Linda Vine, Ray
Carberry
Absent: Steve Corr
• Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved with additions
• Ray reported on Y2K Community Readiness meeting which he attended on 6/14 at
First Baptist Church in Lexington. Also he provided notes of the above mentioned
meeting Discussion ensued. In essence, our team has no objection for members of
this community group to work on neighborhood meetings. Since the speaker was
invited from Concord group and Town of Concord had experience working with
neighborhood meetings, it would be beneficial to find out Concord's Y2K team's
perspective on this matter Appreciation was expressed for Ray's effort.
• In regard to how we are doing and where we are going, Joe has received no criticism
so far The general feeling is that we are on the right track. Karen wanted our team to
assemble a comprehensive package available to the community Donna shared a
folder of"Ottawa-Carlton Ready 2000" which she picked up in a meeting It contains
some good ideas It was suggested that after the school starts in the Fall, we will ask
the students to bring Y2K related information home to raise the awareness Linda will
check out what our neighboring towns are doing when she attends the Assistant
managers' meeting on 6/18 The Town internal newsletter features different teams
The next edition will focus on Y2k and Karen will be interviewed.
• In the future press releases, we should footnote the memo—"print as received" At
this point, we really have no control over the release once it is out Diane suggested
that we might want to have two versions of the press release. The full length one for
newspaper and a short one for newsletters and bulletins No decision has been made
yet.
• For the last news release, the Team did the "edit on fly" For July, he would like that
the team has more time to do the edits before the news release goes out. Joe has
received a package from the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion. Linda
will go over the information in the package and put together a draft for July for team
review
The next meeting of theY2K Awareness / Communication Team is scheduled for
Wednesday, July 7th in Room 111 at 3 00 p m.
