• Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved.
• The team reviewed and edited a draft of a press release for August.
• Due to more and more citizen inquires, the Board of Selectmen has requested that the Y2K Team
present a status report at their August 30th meeting. Each Y2K team sub committee chair will
present a brief overview on "where we are" and what our plans are for the rest of 1999 and
beginning to 2000 A draft report is due by August 1611°for review by Karen Simmons and
Susanna Burgett. Joe will write a draft report. Ray suggested including a time line
• Suggested future press releases include featuring department readiness, contingency plans, and
summation of"where we are." Discussed contacting Eva Henley at the Minuteman to write an
article on the towns Y2K progress versus us sending in press releases. If Eva writes article would
it receive a more prominent print space?
• The Y2K Team, at its last meeting, suggested it was time, that the Awareness Team becomes more
aggressive with out outreach. Discussed designing our own brochure. Linda will use the Personal
Preparedness packet (distributed at meeting) to "pull out"useful information in an effort to create a
town brochure. The team identified the COA, Library and Town Hall as informational pick up
locations Other ways to distribute information might be at the Post Office, on the LexPress busses
("LexPress to Y2K"), a direct mailer(with tax or water bills), or through schools.
• The team needs to start planning for Y2K Public Forums It was agreed to discuss further at next
meeting.
• Joe reported that compared to the abutting towns (except Concord) we are doing the most.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at 3 00 p.m., room 111
