Present: Joe Marino, Diane Snell, Donna Hooper, Steve Corr, Rosa Tsai, Linda Vine and
Ray Carberry (all committee members present)
• Nancy Freed attended the meeting. She presented a recommendation for a Y2K
registration program for persons with special needs. This would be in conjunction
with ongoing Social Service programs. After lengthy discussion, it was decided that
this proposed format may create more anxiety for elders than is necessary All
committee members and Nancy Freed were in agreement.
• The public forum on November 17, 1999 was discussed. Limiting speakers due to
time restnctions was debated. A proposal to have the town representatives cut their
presentations quite a bit was suggested. This discussion will be continued on
11/10/99 at a meeting at Fire Headquarters.
• Y2K literature seems to be very popular The town prepared materials are being
picked up at a fast pace.
• A November Press Release draft was reviewed and options discussed on information
to be included. A summary of questions and answers from the October COA forum
was requested for possible inclusion in an upcoming Press Release. Donna will
summarize Joe's notes from the October meeting and 7m-into-a-dr , ase
for November if time allows for publishing before t e Ner l?th Forum.
• The Team will meet again on Monday,November 15th at 3:00 p.m. for any last
minute preparations for the November 17th Forum as well as to discuss options for the
next Press Release to be issued. Content of next release will be dependent upon if
release has been issued immediately before the November 17th Forum.
