Weds @ 9.30 Next meeting is scheduled for 12/2 THINGS TO CONSIDER: - What can we do internally and what will we have to contract out? - We need to assess and gather information - Will the Selectmen let the equipment go and then replace them eventually? or will they replace them right away? - What has the State done? What will we need to do with them? Need better Communication - Do we have Y2K liability insurance? - Must network with other departments, municipalities and agencies - Each Dept. will have to conduct their own inventory of possible problems. DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES POLICE. Police has formed at 3-4 person Committee. Currently they feel comfortable with the process—95%complete Conducting inventory and certification, and all purchases made are Y2K compliant. Looking for system certifications. DPW Subcommittee to be formed in the very near future. Will work to get inventory LIBRARY anticipate a lot of problems because there are many old computers in the library (25 known to be non-compliant right now), and many embedded chips in the phone system. A Technology Committee has been formed. Started the inventory on terminals and PCs. Library Network fine. TASKS. Beth Anne. - find out about the Mass Municipal Role - create Y2K email list - make copies of Action Plans and send to all - write letter to Dept. Heads?All Employee?explaining our role and what we do and how we need them. - get on Local Net Y2K list. Connie. - create a step-by-step process agenda for each Department. Committee members will review before distribution All. - Get things rolling in your specific Dept., get an inventory of your department
